Close Your Eyes (Korean: 클로즈 유어 아이즈; stylized in all caps) is a South Korean boy group formed through JTBC's survival show Project 7 and managed by Uncore. The group consists of seven members: Minwook, Jingxiang, Yeojun, Sungmin, Seungho, Kenshin, and Kyoungbae. They debuted on April 2, 2025, with the extended play (EP) Eternalt.

1. History

1.1. Formation through Project 7 and other activities

Close Your Eyes was formed through JTBC's reality competition series Project 7, which aired from October 18 to December 27, 2024. The show brought 98 contestants from around the world, primarily in South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, Ukraine, the United States, and Australia, to compete and to debut in a multinational boy group.[24] Out of a pool of 200 contestants, only the top seven would make the final lineup.[25] All members were announced in the finale episode, which was broadcast live on December 27, and they'll be active for three years after debut under Uncore, a new label which jointly formed by SLL and YG Plus.[26]

Before appearing on the program, several members had already been active in the entertainment industry. Jeon Min-wook made his debut in the PocketDol Studio boy group BAE173 on November 19, 2020.[27][28] In 2021, Jang Yeo-jun participated in the MBC survival show Extreme Debut: Wild Idol but was eliminated in the third episode.[29] In 2023, Ma Jingxiang and Yeojun took part in the Mnet reality competition show Boys Planet. Yeojun was eliminated in the fifth episode after ranking 62nd. Subsequently, Ma Jingxiang ranked at 30th place and was eliminated in the eighth episode.[30]

On December 3, the 39th Golden Disc Awards, which took place on January 4–5, 2025, at Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka announced that the 7 members chosen through Project 7 would be part of the show line-up and would perform on the first day of the award show. They performed "Time After Time", one of the original songs from Project 7.[31]

1.2. 2025: Debut with Eternalt , Snowy Summer , Blackout , and "Beyond Your Eyes"

On January 21, 2025, it was revealed that they had done their first magazine photoshoot with Cosmopolitan Korea, confirming their debut set for April, which was later confirmed by JTBC.[32]

On March 5, it was announced that they would make their official debut on April 2, with the mini album Eternalt,[33] alongside its lead single "All My Poetry" (내 안의 모든 시와 소설은), with member Minwook credited as a lyricist. The group held a showcase to commemorate their debut and the mini album's release.[34] "All My Poetry" earned Close Your Eyes their first music show trophy 6 days after debut on SBS's The Show on April 8,[35] followed by an additional win on KBS2's Music Bank on April 11.

On June 21, it was announced that the group's second mini album Snowy Summer would be released on July 9, alongside its similarly titled lead single. "Snowy Summer" earned its first music show trophy on SBS's The Show on July 15,[36] followed by additional wins on MBC M's Show Champion on July 16,[37] and KBS2's Music Bank on July 18.[36]

On October 22, it was announced that the group's third mini album Blackout would be released on November 11, alongside its lead single "X", with member Minwook credited as a lyricist once more, following the pre-release single "SOB" on October 30. "X" earned its first music show trophy on MBC M's Show Champion on November 19.[38]

On December 4, Uncore announced the start of the group's first tour "Beyond Your Eyes" with stops in Seoul, Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka in January and February.[39]

1.3. 2026-present: Overexposed , and 256th Note

On February 3, 2026, J&B Entertainment Canada announced that they had signed a contract with the group to bring them to Canada, as part of their "Beyond Your Eyes" tour, with stops in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver in May.[40]

On April 9, it was announced that the group's first digital single Overexposed would be released on April 21, alongside its lead single "Pose", with members Minwook and Yeojun credited as lyricists.

On May 15, right before their "Beyond Your Eyes" tour dates in Canada, J&B Entertainment announced more tour dates for the US, which included stops in Atlanta, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Dallas, Orlando, Chicago, and New York, plus an additionnal stop in Toronto, scheduled for October and November.[41]

On September 7, it was announced that the group's fourth mini album 256th Note would be released on September 30, alongside its lead single "Drop That!", with members Minwook and Seungho credited as lyricists, following the pre-release single "Open Your Eyes" on September 18, which featured members Minwook and Kenshin credited as lyricists.[42] The EP features 7 tracks, with all the members of the group being credited as lyricists in at least one song.[43]
