Korea the World Noticed First
From Solo Leveling, a KakaoPage web novel turned TV anime, and webtoons to the definition of Hallyu, back to Winter Sonata (2002) and Jewel in the Palace (2003), then Psy, Minari, Youn Yuh-jung, German-born Teo Yoo and Hong Sang-soo: names made on stages abroad.
This course moves from the web-novel-born Solo Leveling and webtoons into the concept of the Korean Wave, then back to Winter Sonata (2002) and Jewel in the Palace (2003), from before the term was common. It continues through Psy, Minari, Youn Yuh-jung, Teo Yoo and Hong Sang-soo, cases recognized on stages abroad, supporting the title Korea the World Noticed First.
